Though I was satisfied with the repairs and services I am very upset that there are deep scratches on my top racks of the vehicle. I've had the vehicle a little over a year and have never once used my racks. We detail my vehicle pretty much every weekend and those deep scratches are new. I need to know how they got there. The rear bumper was replaced and it is Ill-fitting. It looks like the bumper was painted post attachment, thus the edges where it doesn't fit quite right are effectively highlighted. Still giving it some time but it looks like the bumper/quarter panel are still warped ever so slightly so you only see it in a certain light. The tech we told about the bumper yesterday took it back to tighten a screw (helped but didn't remedy the situation), the kinda in a nutshell said that was all they could do. My wife (for it is her car) was aggravated, but late for an appt, and has been working till ****:00am every night so she said it was fine. I planned on giving it a few days to see if it looked ok, and bringing it back in if it still seemed off. The longer I look at it though the more it looks problematic.

My repair was estimated for 8 days in shop, it was well over a month.. No less than twice did I pick the vehicle up and was told it was ready only to discover repairs had not been completed song was forced to return it.. I was told alignment had been completed but "printer was broken"' so I could not be given a report, and when I requested one it was in the shop for another 10'days..! For a diagnostic on a repair I was told had been completed..
Finally when I picked the FJ up I was given an alignment diagnostic showing the camber on driver side out of spec- it was in spec after the accident and before going to Don Gill and I have the Firestone diagnostic to prove that- when I demanded the alibgnment be brought back within spec I was told by the service manager that it "was close enough" and even though not in spec he told me it was "good enough" and when asked point blank "it's close enough Toyota would consider it to be in spec"... That was the first time I'd heard a Toyota employee state that the Toyata standard of quality is "close enough"...
He told me a shim or spacer or something was put in place to get the adjustable measures on the alignment within spec, and tried to tell me my aftermarket suspension system wouldn't allow the vehicle to be totally in spec- this incensed me considering I'd shelled out just a month earlier to have a top of the line total upgrade and selected the package because it guaranteed to fit factory specs and was 100% in spec before the accident and had only the passenger camber out of spec when I dropped it off at D mc G. The first time I picked it up almost EVERYTHING was out of line ( I was given a diagnostic that day SHOWING it was all out of spec but told that was done before the repair but they couldn't give me a copy of the new one since the printer was broke)... And the report that was provided to me had notes from the tech about parts needing replaced that had not been replaced at the time I was told to pick my vehicle up as it was ready...!
The upper control arm was a part indicated by the tech, and I finally had to get the manaufacturer in contact with my service advisor to provide manufacturer recommendations as to checking the part for damage- those protocols were never run through, the part was not even properly inspected per manufacturer.
The passenger front tire where the repairs were completed has had severe tire rub when turning where it did not prior to the repair, and did not even after the accident. I just noticed yesterday the rub is so bad it's wearing through a hydraulic line... It needs attention and I expect the "lifetime guarantee" that came with my repair would be of little help- if I was stupid enough to bring it back there..
There were also a bunch of little things- for instance over 60 miles had been clocked on the odometer and the gas tank was run from a quarter tank to totally completely empty. Empty empty..
I've driven toyotas exclusively for almost 20'years and will continue to do so but never again will I consider Don McGill for sales, service, or anything else and I've been very active in sharing my experience with other Houston area Toyota owners and enthusiasts.
I've likely wasted my time writing this as I doubt it will actually be read, and even if it is it really won't make any difference...
