PPG Rolls Out Q3 Refinish Training Schedule

PPG products are some of the best in the industry, and as a result the training required to become a PPG Certified Technician is the most extensive in the field as well. Some of the broad range of topics covered are product selection, equipment and color tools to surface preparation and paint application best practices. PPG refinish technicians need to be certified every two years and training is given over the course of one to two full days. Topics specifically covered this quarter will include  Envirobase High Performance, Aquabase Plus, and Deltron brands. New this year is PPG's training for newer technicians who are assisting lead painters or paint department management staff. This class, called “Refinish Preparation Specialist,” helps new technicians develop skills in the key areas of cleaning, sanding, masking, bumper cover, and plastic parts preparation as well keeping a clean shop. These areas form a strong foundation for further learning and help to guide future technicians on their path. 

All PPG classes classroom instruction, question and answer sessions, informal discussions with instructors, and hands-on teaching in the spraybooth where available.
