I have had my car repaired by Oakland Auto Body before and this was the first time I felt that I was not fully kept informed of the status of my car. In the work authorization starting 7/5, I requested being kept informed by text. I was told I would get a text every other day. The updates did not start until I called to complain after the third day. At first they were by email and not text. The emails stopped on 7/13 with a notice that my car was on schedule to be complete on 7/19. I then received a text on 7/18 that my car was getting prepared to paint. I texted back to see if it would be complete by 7/19. The response said it wouldn't be complete until the week of 7/23. I didn't receive any more texts or emails until the day the car was done. By then I had called again with my dissatisfaction and was told it would be complete on 7/24 - which it was. The body work appears to be done well. I have noticed that the passenger side turn signal (same side they did the work) is blinking twice as fast as before and than the driver side signal. It was not like that when I brought it in. It is hard for me to take time off from work to keep checking on my car and bringing it back in. The delay in completing the work also made me extend the rental car period. I could have made different arrangements if I had known I was not going to get my car by 7/19. I spoke to Galen Huntsman about this and he was apologetic and took responsibility because he had to focus on both shops for a while during the time my car was being fixed. I appreciate that and told him I wished that the communication was more regular, provide more information, consistent and was not conflicting.

Staff was professional and courteous in all dealings; the shop and office were clean. Paperwork was easy, clear and fast. The option to receive status updates via email was efficient and convenient. And, most importantly, the results of the repairs were excellent. Very pleased with the experience all around!
