I would have liked to have had better communication about when the repairs would be finished. A one week estimate turned into over two weeks, and the day the car was ready I didn't get a call until 5, which was too late for me to get there by 5:30, meaning I had to go an extra weekend without my car. Otherwise, the repairs seemed to be well done.

Scratches on the driver's side right front fender that weren't there when I turned the car over from rrepairs. They look like belt buckle scratches.
Paint on front bumper has 'bumps' in it and was noted when I picked up the car.
Hood grommet isn't installed correctly.

The work appears solid but there was poor communication along the way. The job took one week longer than estimated. Cost 500 more than estimated and there was no offered explanation along the way. I got a text about 'more damage' being found so I called for details. No answer during business hours, so I left a message. No one called me back for more than a day so I had to call again to get information. No one at any point including pick-up mentioned the extra 500 or the why. Two times, I received texts before 7am. Really? Poor communication, no apology or "reveal" as to the extra expense or time it took for the repairs.

Ken and his customer service really made the experience positive for me. I had never been to a body shop and chose this shop kind of at random but I'm glad I did. The first night I dropped my car off, he waited past closing time until the rental company arrived. He showed no irritation or negativity that he was stuck there with me which was great. He was very thorough and frequent in his communications with me on order status, and made a strong effort pushed to get the car completed before I had to leave out of town. The shop did great work on my car, it looks great! It was also very thoroughly cleaned inside and out which was awesome. You can tell Ken and the shop team have pride in their work and a job well done. Ken and the team are a class act and turned the negative experience of getting into an accident into a positive one. I will definitely share my positive experience in recommending Mackins on 65th to others.
