Ford Car Sales Continue To Slide

Ford's decision to pull away from car sales is proving to be a good one as their car sales decline another 17 percent last quarter. As of next year the only Ford car on the market will be their flagship Mustang, with Ford doubling down on their SUV and truck lines. The sales for both of these were significantly up this quarter, which has offset the dismal car sales figures.

These figures show a continued trend, as car sales only comprise about 19 percent of Ford's overall sales. Higher end truck sales bolstered their business, putting them at a steady incline and putting them in the black for the quarter.

Notable wins for Ford are in the SUV class. Their expedition line was up 75 percent and Navigator up 70 percent. Their average ticket price was nearly $38,000, proving that Ford can continue to pull ahead in the automotive market focusing on trucksd SUVs. With h anarsh tariffs making manufacturing unprofitable for many car lines, previous business models are no longer working. Focusing on only the most profitable and workable strategies when importing materials may be the only way to ensure future success.
