Terrence (sp?) was terrific. Couldn't ask for more from him. He was clear and kind and answered my questions thoroughly. He made sure I understood the process so I knew how long it could take to complete and was thorough in explaining the changes to the claim after the repair was done.
The reason I will not use Service King again and will never recommend it -- I've already recommended AGAINST Service King -- is the initial process.
When scheduling the appointment I expressed my great concern with the time without the car. My insurance does not cover rentals so I needed to minimize as much as possible how many days I'd be without my car while it was repaired. The estimate said 3 days. I realize that is ONLY an estimate and it could be longer.
But I showed up on Friday morning June 8 to drop my car off and when I asked about the estimated time (again, realizing it may not be exact) I was told "about 3 days is right, give or take a day or two, depending on certain factors" and then was told "but your clock won't start until at least MONDAY."
WHAT?
Why the EFF would I give you my car for the weekend if it wasn't going to be touched for at LEAST 3 days.
She explained the ordering of the part takes a few days and the part cannot be ordered until the vehicle is dropped off. So why wasn't this explained to me over the phone during scheduling when I expressed GREAT concern about time without the car?
As it turns out the part took 7 days to arrive, after I paid the deductible ahead of time so I could keep the car and avoid being without it for longer than necessary, which is BS, too) -- I was called the following Friday to now get back on the schedule somewhere.
So if I would have left my car there on June 8, you would have had it a whole week before the part even arrived. And since it was a Friday and "we don't work on stuff over the weekend -- direct quote" my car wouldn't have been touched until 10 days after I dropped it off. All in all, you would have had my car for 13 days.
I ended up having to wait until July 9 to drop my car off again.
ABSURD. You MUST be more forthcoming with customers, or you'll tick off the wrong people -- like me.
The work is fine. Terrence was terrific. The lack of dilligence is shameful.
And if you don't think this is going to put a dent in your business, think again. I've already influenced dozens.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL experience. Will NEVER return under any circumstances.
